Opening a match, first message
A first message that references something specific in their profile does better than a generic "hey".
"I saw you've been to [place] — what took you there?"
Don't just copy a line. Try it out loud first.
These are starting points, not scripts to paste. Rewrite them in your own words, then practice saying them with an AI partner so the real conversation isn't the first time you've said it.
Asking someone out
Name a concrete time and place. A vague "let's hang out sometime" is easy to let slide.
"Would you be up for coffee near [station] this Saturday afternoon?"
A line to end on
A short, specific closing line keeps the door open without overpromising.
"This was fun — I'd like to do this again sometime."
These are examples, not guarantees. What works depends on the other person and the conversation so far — practice adapting them, not memorizing them.
